Our Projects

The Moorings Condominiums Seawall Inspection

The aftermath of Hurricane IRMA left widespread damage to seawalls throughout Southwest Florida with many suffering total collapse. In the hours prior to the approach of the hurricane, much of the waters in the canals were pulled out into the river and gulf leaving little to no canal water in front of the seawalls. This event along with the already saturated soils behind the walls placed additional pressures on the seawalls not typically seen when the canal waters are present. Seawall failures of all types have been encountered including seawall panel cracking, seawall toe kick-out, cap failure, tie-rod failure, and deadman pullout.
