The structural design of a printing press foundation presents challenges of its own.  To construct the foundation inside an existing printing plant facility with low overhead bay height presents yet a higher level of additional design considerations.Blot Engineering Inc. (BEI) was successful in providing solutions to both during design of a new Man Roland printing press foundation in Kansas City, Missouri.  The following are a few of the project challenges faced on this project: 400,000 # press with dynamic and frequency loading analysis; Construction within an existing low-overhead building; 36” diameter x 35’ deep +/- auger-cast pressure grouted (APG) piles; Operational plant during construction.  Based out of Kansas City, Missouri, Allied Litho Incorporated specializes in printing posters, magazine inserts, envelopes, cartons, box labels, brochures, catalogues and more.
